Bournemouth Business School 

La ville de Bournemouth
Située en bordure de mer, cette ville animée d'environ 160.000 habitants est l'une des stations balnéaires les plus prisées d'Angleterre, tout en étant une destination estudiantine par excellence, vu les nombreuses écoles et universités fréquentées par les milliers d'étudiants. 

Bournemouth est la 4ème ville d'Angleterre par le nombre d'étudiants, après Londres, Oxford et Cambridge.

La ville jouit d'un climat doux toute l'année, et des plus belles plages de sable du pays. C’est une station idéale à chaque saison et pour tous les âges. Elle possède un style et un cachet spécifiques et offre une variété impressionnante de distractions. Les zones piétonnières pour le shopping jouxtent harmonieusement grands parcs et zones vertes (un sixième de la ville est constitué de parcs ou de jardins publics).
Aux alentours, vous pouvez visiter monuments historiques (Salisbury, Stonehenge, Corfe Castle...) et musées ou jouir d’une nature intacte, comme dans la New Forest voisine et ses chevaux sauvages.

Londres se trouve à une heure et demi de train, environ 2 h30 en autocar. Les communications sont nombreuses et excellentes. La ville de Poole est à environ 5 km de Bournemouth, et rivalise avec celle-ci quant aux attraits touristiques, sportifs et culturels.

INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS ENGLISH (IBE 20 et IBE 30)

Course Description
The International Business English programme (IBE) is designed in modular format to enable students with limited time during the summer period to undertake this popular and effective training programme.  The course is designed for those with an Intermediate level of English language (IELTS 5.0), or above, who are seeking to study a combination of language, business skills and business-related topics.  The IBE course in both structure and content is ideal for those students who need to use English-language communication skills vocationally, in an international environment.

IBE Programme
The IBE programme comprises 20 lessons or 30 lessons of 45 minutes weekly.

Language Component  
The language component of IBE concentrates on developing and improving basic communication skills within a business context. The course provides considerable variety and serves to extend vocabulary and also to develop general, but essential business skills.
International business components include

* human resources management
*professional communications.

Moreover, the IBE course is specifically designed to build confidence in communicating through active participation in such activities as presentations, role-play, business games, negotiations, meetings etc. Students can join either IBE programme on a flexible-entry basis throughout the year.

Flexibility
The IBE programme can conveniently be tailored to individual needs. Students can request additional individual lessons in specific topics or skills, such as report writing, negotiation, banking, retail business, marketing, importing and exporting etc.


Course in General English, Computing & IT Skills

BBSI is an accredited centre for conducting courses preparing for the International Computer Driving License® (ICDL), which is an internationally-recognised qualification that verifies practical competence in computer skills in either a professional or personal capacity and is the fastest growing international IT user-qualification. ICDL is designed specifically for those who wish to gain a benchmark qualification in computing to enable them to develop their IT skills and enhance their career prospects. No prior knowledge of IT or computer skills is needed. The ICDL raises an individual’s level of competency in IT & computing skills; improves personal productivity, both at home & at work; requires no prior knowledge of IT or computer skills; and provides individuals with an internationally-recognised qualification.

Students are tested and interviewed on arrival at BBSI and are then placed in international classes at a language level to suit their needs. The training methods are functional and practical, and a wide range of effective teaching methods is utilised to suit different types of learner. Our interactive techniques stimulate interest, inspire motivation, increase the efficiency of the learning process and achieve the highest possible levels of retention. The computer lessons offer tutor-guided project work, the use of a variety of basic IT computer software packages. The course is conducted around a busy social and activity programme.

The language component in the EFM course concentrates on developing basic communication skills in speaking, reading, writing and listening.  The course provides considerable variety, and serves to extend vocabulary and to develop general communication skills.  Many of the teaching materials are authentic and include audio and video facilities.  The EFM programme is specifically designed to build confidence through active participation in such activities as discussions and role-play.

ENGLISH for Managment

The course can be studied for between 2-12 weeks and is available in 2 study options: a programme of 20 lessons weekly and a study programme of 30 lessons weekly. Both study options are designed for those international students with an English language level of Intermediate or above, who require to study a combination of management training and business English skills, combined with a busy social and activity programme.

Course Objectives. The course objectives are to:
  • develop a basic understanding of current theory and practice in international management
  • acquire a professional understanding and knowledge of international business and management concepts
  • develop effective business English communication skills
  • build appropriate vocabulary related to business and management
  • develop confidence and fluency in the English language beyond Intermediate Level
  • provide participants with the opportunity to acquire an accredited business English qualification
  • acquire partial accreditation towards a professional management qualification (optional)
  • become a Student Member of the Chartered Management Institute, London (optional)
On completion of the course, participants will have enhanced their basic knowledge of international business and management, and will have developed their ability to use English language effectively in a professional, business and social context. The English for Travel & Tourism programme (ETT) is an intensive modular course designed for people with an Intermediate language level (IELTS 5.0), or above, who wish to study a combination of English, travel and tourism and related professional skills.  The programme comprises of 20 or 30 fifty-minute lessons weekly.  The ETT course, in both structure and content, is ideal for those students who need to use English-language communication skills vocationally, in an international environment, who have a work or study related background in travel and tourism.

Language Component 
The language component of the ETT programme concentrates on developing basic communication skills in speaking, reading, writing and listening.  The course provides considerable variety and serves to extend vocabulary and develop general communication skills.  Many of the teaching materials are authentic and include audio and video facilities.  The ETT programme is specifically designed to build confidence through active participation in such activities as discussions and role-play.

Specialist Component 
The specialist component within the ETT course allows learners to focus on current travel, tourism and hospitality management issues and case studies, while also developing vocabulary and professional skills.

- Logement : 140 €/semaine hors juillet/août, 160 €/semaine en juillet/août en chambre individuelle  en famille d'accueil, repas compris en pension complète le w-end et en demi pension pendant la semaine,  ou en résidence universitaire sans repas et avec possibilité de cuisiner. Le logement se paie par trimestre, anticipativement et n'est pas compris dans les tarifs ci-dessous.

Certificat
Les cours pour les séjours de 12 semaines (MB 12) comprennent 24 leçons par semaine et se donnent sur une partie de l'année académique. Les cours incluent une qualification anglaise "City & Guilds' Vocational Key Skills module" et préparent aussi au BBSI, au NCFE.
Selon le niveau de départ de l'étudiant, les cours comprendront la partie 2 ou 3 du programme conduisant au diplôme.
Certificat supérieur
Les cours pour les séjours de 24 semaines (MB 24) comprennent 24 leçons par semaine et deux parties de l'année académique.
Si le niveau de départ de l'étudiant est suffisamment élévé, les trimestres 2 et 3 peuvent être suivis.
Diplôme
Les cours diplômant (MB 36) est un programme de 36 semaines de 24 leçons par semaine. Le MB 36 est le programme le plus adapté aux participants qui ont un niveau d'anglais d'entrée "Post-Intermediate", c'est à dire IELTS 5.0, et qui recherchent un programme de "general business"  incluant du marketing, de l'économie et de la finance. Les cours comprennent la qualification anglaise "City & Guilds' Vocational Key Skills module" et préparent au BBSI, au NCFE, permettant l'accès à l'enseignement supérieur et universitaire en Angleterre (service d'orientation et de placement via l'école).
